Last Friday Willow and Silver Birch class went on a trip to Abbey House Museum. In class we have been learning about homes from the past. We had such an exciting day exploring the old cobbled streets and learning about life in Victorian times.

Hmm, this clothes soap doesn't smell as good as Mummy's washing!
Victorians had to grate soap to make washing powder.
They used a posser to mix laundry while handwashing. This helped to get rid of all the dirt and built fantastic muscles!
Then they took the wet clothes out of the washing tub using tongs.
Victorians used wooden clothes pegs when hanging up clothes to dry.
